Our Broadcast Team

Anjola

I like the fact that this program helps me think outside the box and be creative, helps me come out of my shell and helps me learn about cameras. I wish to end up in front of the screens one day and do some acting. I wish to end up working in a broadcast co-operation. I wish to end up teaching people and podcasts and how to make a good podcast.

Grayson

I really like the fact that we learn and apply skills in real world situations. I also love the fact that I’m learning stuff I will use in my future career. I want to end up in the movie industry, or better yet, working for corridor digital. Being a stuntman would also be mad sick. Fun fact about me: I dislike traditional sports, and prefer action sports, especially if they can be done anywhere.

Jamie

I like the fact that the broadcasting program is more open to students’ interests and creativity than other high schools. I want to end up working in the film industry. I would really love to work behind the scenes being a camera operator. My dream job would be to work for a big film studio such as A24 or Blumhouse productions. I would also love to write or produce a film of my own someday. A fun fact about me is my favorite holiday is Halloween.

Nitin

What I really like about Broadcast Media is how hands-on it is. I get to learn practical skills like how to operate cameras, work with lighting, and edit video content, which are all essential in the media industry. It’s exciting to see how a story comes together from start to finish—planning, shooting, editing, and finally broadcasting. In the future, I want to work in broadcasting and help cover big events like the Olympic Games. It’s my dream to be part of a team that shares those moments with the world. One fact about me is that I like to stay organized.

Vivek

I always wanted to be behind cameras, and this program has given me an opportunity to do that. Plus, I ended up liking some other activities we do such as podcasting and post-production. My end goal is to be a successful filmmaker. A fact about me is that just like my flawless hair, my work ethic is also “flawless”.

Balkaran

My name is Balkaran. I am student at LRATC in the broadcast media program. What I like in this program is to work on cameras as well as working in Adobe Audition. There’s lots of interesting tools that I like to use while editing. I would like to end up as producer or as director.

 .

Gurjot

My name is Gurjot Singh. I am student in the Broadcast Media program at Louis Riel Arts & Technology Centre. I am very interested in operating cameras, making videos, and the mastery of Adobe suite. I also like editing photos and videos. After I complete this course, I want to work in sports broadcasting. I currently have a YouTube channel where I create my own video edits and vlogs. I like shooting videos after that I make edits and I them upload on my Instagram.

Karam

I like Broadcast Media, mostly because of camera production. I like to work with cameras and learn about lots of interesting features of cameras, I am quite interested in photography and videography, but it was just using mobile phones. I want to end up being a camera operator and editor because that’s a most interesting part of broadcasting for me. To get success in this field I want to enhance my knowledge about camera and editing. Maybe, I will be making my talent in this field. The weird fact is that I always try to perform my best.

Ihuoma

Ihuoma is the “favorite student” of the broadcast media class 2025. She loves the hands-on experience and opportunity to learn about the technical aspects of broadcasting, it makes her enjoy working on projects that allow her to be creative and express herself through the lens of a camera. Broadcast media class gives me skills and confidence needed to succeed as a journalist. These skills will be essential for my future career as a freelance reporter. A weird fact about me is that I have nothing about me is weird.

Zach

I like the creative power given to me by my teachers to make anything I want. I love the positive and constructive atmosphere of the class that makes me motivated to come in and get a little bit better every single day. I want to end up creating content and working for myself. Making edits of Mr. Plateink is my new favourite hobby!

Colton

What I like about this program is the podcasting, and the ability to use the cameras for both events and projects. As well as being able to connect with like-minded people who share my common interests. I think I’ll find myself in 5 years doing my NFL podcast named “NFL X Madden”. Something about myself is that I came into this program as a graduated student now, having a perspective of what high school students are going through. I’m glad I graduated already.

Harsh

This is a very interesting program; I love all the things that make up this program. Especially, working with cameras, editing videos, and editing audio. I don’t know where I will end up, because I want to work in this industry in future.

Matthew

Something I really like about the program is most of the creative stuff. I also really enjoy recording games. As of right now, I want to end up working at sports games. I don’t know where I want to do them, but I do want to. I enjoy speedrunning video games such as Super Mario Odyssey, among others.

Praise

Praise is a broadcast media student at LRATC who is passionate about telling stories through cameras, but her true creativity shines in her editing and postproduction. She is known to be a quiet leader letting her work speak for itself and is currently one of the producers for the podcast, “Adventures in Careerland”. In the future, Praise would like to end up doing more behind-the-camera work, before possibly directing her own films. While being nonchalant and mysterious, Praise can be found deep in the musical self-playing the saxophone.

Daniel

I love the aspect that every week is something new and something different where most classes are the same thing every year, this class is a breath of fresh air for me. In the future I would love to have a varied portfolio of jobs and different places of work, all around the world. I still don’t have a concrete clue of where I will be in the future, but it looks to be somewhere in this industry. I collect “Vintage” Video games.

Jake

I enjoy the fact that I get to do what I have always wanted to do. I enjoy that everything is hands on. My Current goal is to end up working for “Dome” Productions. I like how I get to work with cameras and recording sports, I have always wanted to record sports, it has been something I have wanted to do as a kid. A fact about me is that I am a Toronto Maple Leafs fan.

Nick

Broadcast media is an essential part of my inner development. The class is a great way to embrace creativity and really understand the technical and artistic functions behind the craft. The constant travel exposure to new environments is a massive bonus, exploring and filming the city really brings a professional feel and mindset to the program. Personally, I’m looking forward to a career in production and contemporary acting, and I’m positive this class will make me achieve that.

Tony

I like that the Broadcast Media program is hands on and lets me explore cameras, photo/ video editing, and live production. It has helped me understand how this industry works while still being creative. I would like to end up working in sports broadcasting, either in front of the camera or as a producer. And a weird fact about me is I don’t let anyone touch my boots before a soccer game, it’s like they carry special energy.
